Shortly after the pandemic shutdown in 2020, Kulshan Brewing Company hatched a plan to create a large-scale outdoor beer garden on the new waterfront in Bellingham, WA. The plan was to convert a few shipping containers, do a bit of landscaping, and make a go of it. I was brought in early to help with many aspects of the project including branding, site layout, signage, and several other random pieces.

I developed the branding for the containers and the space. I helped plan the layout of the site, including fully designing the entryway with plants, a trellis, and a sweeping view of the beer garden. I developed a signage system for the containers and the beer garden, I even designed signage for the top of the containers so that drones would also see the brand message.

This was an incredibly rewarding project. I’m always happiest when I get to design as many aspects of a project as possible.
